Educators Day: Expect the Unexpected!

Sep 16, 2026
Ssssoooo… I presented Jake with what I thought was a brilliant idea. 😂

We would make a sign, head down to the roadside and ask complete strangers to beep their horns for Early Childhood Educators’ Day!

His enthusiasm was overwhelming. But there was no stopping me…

Because if there is one thing I am always prepared to make some noise and apparently embarrass myself for it is early childhood educators.

And then the beeps started!!!!

One after another...

For the educators who show up every day.

Who notice the little things.

Who create safe places for children to belong.

Who carry enormous responsibility and continue to give so much of themselves to their children, families and teams.

It was funny, slightly chaotic and one of the best parts of our day.

To every early childhood educator in our beautiful community:
We see you, value you.
And we will always make noise for you.

Never forget the people along the way. 💕

2 weeks ago we celebrated Early Childhood Educators’ Day, and as I looked back through old photos, I was reminded of just how many incredible people have shaped my journey.

Different services, seasons & roles.

So many stories.

Some of these photos feel like yesterday. Others come from chapters of my life that now feel so far away.

But the people and the way they made me feel, will always remain.

To every educator I have worked beside, led, supported, learned from, laughed with, cried with, celebrated with and grown alongside…

You know who are are, Thank you 🙏

Thank you for the early mornings, the late finishes, the difficult days and the thousands of beautiful moments nobody else ever saw.

Thank you for comforting children, reassuring families, supporting your teammates and returning each day ready to give another piece of your heart.

Some of you helped shape the educator I became.

Some helped shape the leader I became.

And so many of you have shaped the person I am today and the work I now have the privilege of doing.

You may not even realise the impact you had on me, but I have never forgotten it.

Teams change. Services change. Life takes us in different directions. But the people who walked beside us through each chapter will always form part of our story.

Every interaction, relationship and all the moments.

It all counts.

I see you.

I appreciate you.

And I will never forget you.
